Not knocking Ubuntu one bit, just stating that it reaffirms that most Ubuntu users have lost sight of what used to make linux a challenge. It's become so much closer to a mainstream operating system that people forget about the complexities and the advanced procedures that can be accomplished underneath it all.
It's things like this (or the lack of knowledge about things like this among the community) that confirms the notion that Ubuntu is not the stereotypical linux anymore.
